Independent doesn’t mean “alone.” It means: your style, your pace, your way. Not chasing every trend. Not caring too much about other people’s opinions. Doing what drives you—in sport, at work, in life. That attitude lives in every product we make: thoughtful, functional, and uncompromisingly individual. Many customers have told us that’s exactly what they love about us. That moment when you look at your bike and know: That’s me.
Independent Racing – because riding should be fun.
ndependent Racing grew out of a simple, honest need: to ride as we are. In late 2007 we started as a garage project—Tim Crhak, the founder of Independent Racing, wanted to create his own graphics for his racing supermoto. He quickly enlisted his father (a technical drafter) to trace the templates of the plastic bodywork. In 2008 the company was officially founded. We found a print shop quickly, but the search for the perfect film took months—ultimately we committed to 3M materials. In 2009 we brought production fully in-house: printing, cutting, finishing—everything under one roof. Back then, Europe had only a few providers and hardly any personalization. For us—shaped by U.S. role models like Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart—that was unthinkable. So we built what we had been missing ourselves: graphics that make riders and teams unmistakable.
What started as an apparel idea for Offroad/Supermoto quickly evolved into a graphics manufactory with a special focus on fit, materials, and finish. We added MX jerseys, Supermoto BIBs, and handlebar pads—all matched to each rider’s graphic kit.
In 2011 we launched our first Supermoto leather suit along with our own SM glove: maximum freedom of movement, real safety, generous stretch zones, ventilated panels, and room for knee braces.
In 2012 we became an official license partner of KTM & Husqvarna AG and have worked closely with KTM under strict quality standards ever since.
For years (2008-2016) in the Supermoto DM, multiple riders with our graphics stood on the podium every week—across classes and consistently. Names like Jochen Jasinski, Markus Class, MH Motorräder, Bernd Hiemer, Jan Deitenbach, Bergos Racing, Style Factory, Nico Joannidis, Dirk Spaniol, and the entire DSR Team shaped that era.
In parallel, we ran our own Supercross team (2012–2015) which started in the international German SX championship.
Between 2012 and 2016 we built a full MX and leisure collection—from functional jerseys to streetwear essentials. Designs, cuts, and colour palettes echoed our graphics so bike, teamwear, and off-bike outfits formed one seamless look.Why it matters: these collections shaped our aesthetic and accompanied many of you. We produced catalogues & lookbooks that are now real time capsules—perfect for a gallery section on the site (covers, editorials, detail pages). Several signature looks from back then still inspire our designs today.

Over the years, we have produced graphics, clothing, and merchandise for (literally) almost all German and Swiss Supermoto teams and have had a strong presence in the off-road sport – from MX Masters to the international freestyle scene.
By 2014, we were almost exclusively a manufacturer for off-road and Supermoto sports, but the demand from KTM street bike riders grew immensely.

In 2016 we shifted our focus even more strongly to street graphics for KTM, supplying renowned dealers as well as countless private customers.
In 2018 we moved into our own facility in 55129 Mainz-Hechtsheim—finally enough space to refine processes and keep evolving our webshop. We also expanded our textile expertise for partners, including textile productions for Shoei Helmets Europe (2018 and 2022).
The pandemic in 2021 forced us to slow down and refocus. A turning point—and the launchpad for our next step.
Since 2023 we’re back with a new team, fresh energy, and a new home base in Dalstorp, Sweden. More products, faster processes, and simple online configurators that let you preview your design before you buy—developed in the Swedish woods and built with German precision.
And yes: our leather suits are back—better than ever, fully customisable and made to measure.
Today, Independent Racing specializes in custom, factory-like, easy-to-apply graphic kits for all KTM & Husqvarna models. Further models are constantly being added.
In a long process, Independent Racing, together with several companies, developed its own film specifically for producing graphics. This unique film is particularly durable and has optimal adhesion. You can find more information about the material here.
